We think any and all correspondence can (and should) be as lovely as it is functional. Juliana and Christopher’s letterpress personal stationery is a testament to that belief. Botanical inspired motifs, hand calligraphed monikers and a neutral palette of camel and blind deboss create an ethereal look that is both beautiful and practical.
letterpress inks: camel + blind deboss [no ink] | font: madeline | hand calligraphy: mitty style + mitty caps style | paper: bella cotton ivory 2-ply + 1-ply | rounded corners | liner: natural woodgrain pattern in camel | envelope: bella cotton ivory | customization #29774
Ann’s custom letterpress social stationery cards were a Christmas gift, ordered through our flagship store in New York City. We printed in cherry ink and added our juniper patterned liner in cherry, papaya and hazel.
letterpress ink: cherry | font: nib | paper: bella cotton white 1-ply | envelope: bella cotton white pointed flap | liner: juniper pattern in cherry + papaya + hazel | Bella Figura NYC | customization #31369
Katelyn and Kevin chose our Duncan design as inspiration for their post-wedding letterpress personal stationery. We created a joint card using their last name as well as personalized cards for individual correspondence. Pointed flap envelopes lined in classic black were a simple and sophisticated addition.

We were absolutely thrilled to see this real wedding on Style Me Pretty recently – a stunning white affair that took place in beautiful Santa Barbara. The couple’s Majorca wedding invitations set the tone for their intimate celebration, and romantic hints of blush were found throughout the decor. The bridesmaids wore stunning, custom-made dresses by Lauren Bradley, and the bride wore an incredible pair of bright blue Christian Loubouton peep toe shoes, a gift given to her by the groom while they were dating. We love their coordinating day-of pieces, too – gorgeous table cards and menus are the perfect way to tie everything together.

Last fall, we had the pleasure of designing and printing these gorgeous invitations for Vanessa & David’s November wedding at the iconic Sydney Opera House. The invitations were a custom design, featuring elements from our ever-popular Deveril design and an intricate custom pattern. The pattern was printed in black on extra-wide belly bands that we created to keep everything packaged neatly together, and was also printed in blind deboss on the back of each card to create an ultra-chic look. We loved seeing all of the amazing photographs of the big day on Style Me Pretty – dreamy white peonies, a stunning 5-tier cake, and soft, romantic candlelight added so much elegance to this black tie affair. An indulgent dinner reception at Guillaume at Bennelong was followed by homemade limoncello (created by the bride’s father) – a delicious treat and a nod to the bride’s Italian heritage.

This unique letterpress thank you card was one of our favorite customizations of 2009. It’s our Majorca design printed in espresso and cardinal inks with a fun square shape that makes it truly one of a kind.
Incorporating calligraphy into your letterpress wedding invitations strikes us as one of the season’s best wedding trends. Actually, calligraphy has been a popular design element for, oh, several hundred (or thousand?) years, but we’ve been seeing calligraphy a whole lot in our favorite wedding invitations this year. Though script fonts are great, nothing – absolutely nothing! – compares with hand lettered calligraphy, where every single letter is a totally unique work of art. Bella Figura’s calligrapher is the amazingly talented Debi Zeinert, who has been making our letterpress brides so happy for years now.
So for the next few posts, we’ll focus on some really gorgeous calligraphy invitations. Let’s start with this Nonpareil invitation – it’s honestly one of the prettiest things we have ever seen! And what an inspired customization too (check out the Nonpareil original invitation here). It’s true, we’re letter junkies over here, but check out the calligraphy accents: look at that A! The M! Just lovely. Clients can choose from about 10 different styles of calligraphy, but this style (the Clermont style) feels perfect: modern, elegant, with a little bit of cool. Also note that both the reply information AND reception information is on the invitation itself – it’s eco (less paper!) and keeps cost down too (no reply card/envelope/reception card to worry about!). Colors are black & fuchsia – so perfect!
We think it’s smart to do the thank you note and coaster in 1 color, to keep costs down. If you’re trying to save money, keep the 2 color design for the invitation, and do the rest of the pieces in 1 color.
