We created these colorful holiday cards with our friends at Paper Caper. Our Baldwin and Dahlman holiday samples provided the inspiration. We used the layout and fonts of the Baldwin, combined with the whimsical warm foil tones from the Dahlman. The ornament foil liner pattern is printed in champane matte on metallic rose quartz paper. Metallic red thread perfectly matches the red shine foil edge.

Our NYC Studio team worked with John to create these stunning holiday cards. A supplied illustration is the focus, highlighted by pops of red shine, with a bronze shine border. Complimentary ruby letterpress was used for the interior message. A red paper liner with white digital printing is the perfect compliment.

We’re always interested to learn about our designer’s inspiration. Our designer Cassidy created the Dahlman holiday card for our 2023 holiday collection, and walks us through her inspiration:
Dahlman was inspired by the vintage Christmas ornaments from my great grandma’s mini Christmas tree! I’ve always loved her tree so much so I knew I had to illustrate my favorite ornaments and turn them into a pattern. I named the suite after my Oma’s maiden name Dahlman, as she’s always encouraged and inspired me to live out my dreams as an artist and designer
The color palette and illustration style was heavily inspired by Christmas cards from the 50s/60s, but especially the 1950s collection of Christmas cards designed by the amazing animator Thorten Hee. You can see these below, along with some real vintage ornaments.
The champagne matte foil and pink pearl shine give the card that retro feel and the red shine foil brings in the holiday cheer! For the typography, I used Dark Paradise for the title and Altesse script to help give the card a retro feel and Avenir helped to add a modern touch.
The card can be printed in multiple different colorways and the illustrations can be moved and adjusted to create something truly personalized. Pictures could also be added inside the big circle cutouts of the ornaments to place photos of your family or pets! I’ve mocked up some alternative color ways below.

Our custom creations don’t just stop at just wedding invitations! We’re always happy to see other events come through our shop like these blind embossed derby party invitations. Menage Fine Stationery & Gifts provided the design for this bold statement-maker. Blind Embossed typography kept the style of the design minimal as well as monochromatic. Our Red Shine foil easily stole the show as it popped the motif off the page with ease. Finally, a subtle envelope liner printed in Shale digital ink kept the attention on the invitation.
Tara and Chad customized our Traditional Palm wedding invitations for their Hotel Bel Air wedding. They chose a fresh color palette of sand and black letterpress inks and added a fun pop of color with red shine foil edging. Nicole Black’s hand calligraphy was used to highlight their names and select text throughout the suite while our sea stripes liner pattern was flipped on its side for a modern presentation.

We can’t get enough of Kelle McCarter’s inspiration for her her whimsical Cascade invitation suite. Created from modern, hand drawn free form blooms, Cascade is designed to be a celebratory piece with delicate calligraphy accents and effervescent flower petals cascading across the invitation. Kelle McCarter’sCascade design is looking rather jaw-dropping foil stamped entirely in red shine. Hand calligraphy accents always add a personalized touch and the swarm of petals “cascading” down adds to the romance. We have Rock Paper Scissors to thank for sending over this stunning suite!
