We’re back from the 2016 National Stationery Show, where we recently launched our new Flora collection, along with a selection of brand new designs that will be available online soon. We loved having the opportunity to meet with our retailers at both the show and at a special event we held for them at our flagship store in the Upper East Side. Bella Figura calligrapher Sarah Hanna joined us at both the event and in our booth, offering on-the-spot hand calligraphy on keepsake Flora cards.
We were also thrilled to have two of our invitations honored at the Louie Awards! Our Lark design by Jessica Tierney was chosen as the winner of the “modern printed standard wedding invitation suite” category, while the Adele mailers we sent out for our store’s grand opening events were honored in the “general invitations above $4″category. Many thanks to the Greeting Card Association for honoring our designs!
We’ll be back soon with a recap on the holographic foil stamped invitations and coasters we printed for the 2016 Paper Party with Oh So Beautiful Paper!
We recently returned from the 2015 National Stationery Show, where we had the opportunity to meet with new and existing Bella Figura retailers. We shared a new booth space with our sister company, Smock, and created some new displays to make it easier for retailers to shop our collection. Before the show started, we sent out a mailer to announce our new space and our show specials. Based on our Lucaya design, the announcement mailer was double-sided, with an art print on the front and info on the back. The piece was sent out alongside Smock’s monochromatic, art print style mailers with one of Smock’s new foil stamped envelope liners.
Well before the show started, we began brainstorming ways to make it easier to browse our vast collection. The Stationery Show is a great opportunity for our retailers to update their materials (and for new retailers to select theirs), so we created a special display that we dubbed a “Belladex”. Similar in style to a rolodex, our Belladexes showcased our invitations on hinges, making it easy to flip through and view our designs. We worked with a local vendor to create the handsome, handcrafted wooden boxes, and Debi Zeinert hand calligraphed the hinges with each design’s name. After the hinges were calligraphed, we adhered the invitations and then slid them onto dowels that rested inside of each box. We were thrilled with the end result! Here’s a peek at our booth (and our Belladexes) during set-up:
After setup was complete, the booth looked like this:

In total, we brought 5 Belladexes, which featured roughly 265 of our best designs.
One of the most exciting parts of the National Stationery Show was winning our first Louie Award! The Louie’s represent the best greeting cards and stationery in the business, so it was an honor to have our Elodie design by Jessica Tierney recognized this year.
Another exciting part of the National Stationery Show is Paper Party! Here’s a peek at the invitations that we created with Moglea for the event (view the full post here), and be sure to check out Smock’s Paper Party recap!
Many thanks to the press and retailers who came by to see us at the National Stationery Show! Until next year!
We are busy preparing for the 2012 National Stationery Show that’s just a few weeks away, but we wanted to stop and take a break to share the letterpress and foil stamped invitations that we printed and sent out for the show! Our modern Unique Minimes design set the tone, and we love the way our hot pink letterpress ink looks when paired with shiny gold foil stamping! As part of our mid-year release, we’ll be introducing a new book filled with invitation designs for life’s special occasions: engagements, birthdays, showers, Bar & Bat Mitzvah, baby, and more. 9 new invitation designs will also debut at the show, and those will be available in early July at a Bella Figura dealer near you! We have the incredibly talented calligrapher Debi Zeinert of The Blooming Quill to thank for addressing the envelopes for these invitations in a metallic gold ink. We cannot get enough of the way those envelopes look!
In preparation for our first trek to the National Stationery Show this past week, we joined forces with our sister company (and BFF) Smock to send out a fabulous letterpress invitation to show attendees. The design features our Simple Geometrics pattern in blind deboss paired with gorgeous calligraphy from Bella Figura calligrapher Sarah Hanna printed in our Prussian ink. Watermelon edge painting and a pairing of great Smock invitations made for the perfect letterpress package.
We’re back from our first ever appearance at the National Stationery Show where we were blown away by the response to our new letterpress wedding album. We had the most amazing time. Much love to all of the awesome retailers who dropped by to say hello and check us out! Here’s a little peak of what the booth looked like – you can visit our sister company Smock for a full recap! We’ll see you back here next week for renewed inspirations and lots of letterpress love. Happy weekend!
For the first time ever, Bella Figura will be at this year’s National Stationery Show! If you’re attending the show, drop by and say hello! We’ll be in booth 2241 with our BFF Smock. We’re so excited to share our passion for really gorgeous letterpress invitations so make sure to pay us a visit. See you soon!
Many thanks to our friend and calligrapher extraordinaire Sarah Hanna for lending her beautiful calligraphy to this year’s NSS invitation, too!
