Designer Sierra Detrick created our playful foil stamped wedding invitation Koi that added a bit of color and fun to our line-up! Here’s a little bit about the makings of this vibrant design from the designer herself: “I began looking at all different types of Koi ponds and studying the colors and textures specifically in the aquatic plants, fish, stones and water. I picked out a palette that felt was representative of everything I had seen. I then settled on light and airy brush strokes as the style for the background to give it a more natural feel. With such a fun and whimsical piece of art, I knew the typography had to be a bit more structured, but I didn’t want it to feel stiff or too contained. From there, I broke up the lines on the outer boundary of some of the pieces to keep the suite feeling structured yet somewhat free.” Detrick also had a strong Asian influence in her life as she was growing up saying, “I had a pen pal from Japan and we began writing in 7th grade and still write to each other today. In her letters, she always sends me postcards with the most beautiful scenery filled with vibrant colors and textures. The idea of the koi pond stemmed from some of these inspiring authentic images.”

We worked with Party Panache to create these watercolor wedding invitations for Michelle and Andrew. The couple was married this past May at the Harbor Club at Prime in Huntington, New York – a modern venue fit for a modern wedding invitation. They used our Brushwork design as the jumping off point for their own watercolor vision made up of a variety of purple and green hues. To bring an extra wow factor to the invitation, Bronze Shine foil was introduced as an accent color to make the wording pop off the page giving the design dimensional impact.

Bella Figura NYC had the pleasure of working with Sarah and Robert to create their charcoal and gold foil wedding invitations. The couple’s suite reflected their venue perfectly as they were married in the ornate Cathedral Basilica of Notre Dame De Quebec in Quebec City. The cathedral is adorned with beautiful gold accents and this idea was carried onto the invitation as well as the pocketfold. With our luxurious Bella Gray paper as the backdrop for this all over elegant garden pattern, we have no doubt guests couldn’t wait to open the pocketfold to find out what was inside. The floral pattern was also added to the corners of the reply card to pull everything together from the outside in. A solid gold foil envelope liner was added as the finishing touch to this timeless suite.
