Love is in the air at our flagship store! Our lead designer Jessica Tierney designed our latest window display, which features massive hanging hearts, rose petals, and some of our newest designs! Jess hand-painted the hearts in shade of red, pink, gold, and purple, and our finishing team added gold, red, and rose gold foil edges to give them a hint of shimmer. The highlight of this window display has got to be the massive scrolling hand calligraphed love quote, which Nicole Black penned for us — isn’t it stunning?! We recently had the pleasure of participating in Martha Stewart’s 2016 Wedding Party, an amazing bridal show produced by Claudia Hanlin and our friends at The Wedding Library for New York City brides and grooms. The event took place at Gotham Hall on a sunny Sunday morning, just a few hours after the travel ban was lifted after the historic winter storm Jonas. The Wedding Party had bands playing throughout the day, delicious cake tastings, a variety of venues and registry options, talented florists and event designers, models floating about in gorgeous wedding gowns, travel coordinators for dreamy honeymoon destinations — and those were just a few of the different types of vendors attendees had the opportunity to visit with. Bella Figura calligrapher Debi Zeinert had a table next to us, offering on the spot calligraphy and giving everyone a personalized memento to take home. Fleurs NYC provided us with beautiful fresh flowers for our event displays, which featured new designs from our 2016 collection and some of our bestsellers. Take a peek at our display!
We worked with Hercules Candy Company, a Syracuse-based chocolate shop, to create custom chocolate bars that we printed labels for (featuring artwork from our new Adele design!) to give out as a treat to attendees. We worked with another Syracuse company – the Black Arts Studio – to create our a beautifully printed table runner for the event as well.
Martha Stewart and Darcy Miller gave a talk at the beginning of the event, and made the rounds to see all of the different vendors – including us! It was an honor to meet Martha and have her check out our newest designs — definitely the highlight of the event.
Tomorrow we’re heading to Bloomingdale’s for a “pre-wedding” wedding party complete with cocktails, savory hor d’oeuvres, and cake tastings! Our flagship store manager Linda Hays will be at the event with samples from our new 2016 collection, and we’ll be offering a $500 raffle prize* that can be used towards your Bella Figura wedding invitations and save the dates! We are excited to announce that our flagship store in New York City is now open! Located at 1031 Lexington Avenue, the store will offer our entire range of custom wedding invitations and social stationery, as well as custom invitations and everyday stationery essentials from our sister company and BFF, Smock. Bella Figura store manager Linda Hays is an invitation expert with over 12 years of experience personalizing custom invitations, announcements, social stationery, and more. The store is open from 11am until 7pm Tuesday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to schedule a consultation right from our website!
Here’s a look inside the store – which includes a few sneak peeks of our new designs for 2016! Our creative lead Jessica Tierney dreamed up the forest-inspired window displays, complete with mossy greenery, terrariums, cascading leaves, and of course — letterpress wedding invitations.
To celebrate the opening of the store, we’re hosting an open house next week on Wednesday, October 14th – Bella Figura calligrapher Debi Zeinert will be calligraphing personalized art prints, among other fun surprises! If you’re in the city on Wednesday, be sure to stop by! We created a mailer to promote the open house using Adele, one of our new 2016 designs by Ellie Snow. We customized the design and printed it using black and french vanilla inks with copper foil on our thick, 2-ply white Bella cotton paper, and we created a custom foil stamped liner in copper foil over a digitally printed french vanilla background.
