We were so happy to have the incredibly talented Marie Labbancz share photos of Diana and Noah’s wedding – and their Irving letterpress wedding invitations! We printed their invitations in pewter and pale gray inks with fuchsia edge painting and love how Diana and Noah incorporated them into their modern meets classic wedding. With bright fuchsia and orange bridesmaid dresses and playful touches like 80s-inspired sunglasses paired with the sleek elegance of a vintage Rolls Royce, we’re just in love with these photos and know you will be, too. We love seeing our wedding invitations in action like this!
Visit Marie’s blog for all of the gorgeous details and a big congratulations to Diana and Noah from everyone at Bella Figura!

Last year we had the pleasure of printing lovely letterpress wedding invitations, escort cards, table numbers and thank you notes for Lisa and her handsome groom Stephen for their Malibu wedding. Today their amazing wedding, held at the Malibu Nature Preserve, is featured one our of absolute favorite wedding blogs, Style Me Pretty. (You can see Abby’s posts here and here.) We are so in love with this beautiful wedding, we just had to share more of the amazing photos from the incredible team at docuvitae and a bit more insight into what made the day so special from the bride herself.
Inspired by the beautiful flowers that grow wild in the California hills in late summer, Lisa dreamed of a lush, magical wedding that celebrated all the beauty of nature and evoked feelings of being lost in a fairy forest. The answer? Many little flower girls dressed in fairy wings, a ceremony in a sycamore grove and silk butterflies on strings. Oh. And a really fabulous dress from Claire Pettibone that was soft, shimmery and ethereal.

When we printed the letterpress wedding invitations for Stewart and Darryl’s October 2008 wedding, we had a feeling that their day was going to be something truly magical. When we recently had the opportunity to see their amazing wedding photos, captured by Eleise Theuer, we knew we were right. Married just one year and three days after their first date, after having met on match.com, Stewart and Darryl crafted a celebration that was thoughtful, personal and rich with handmade details and a sensitivity to the environment. Melville Farm in Reedville, Virginia was the only natural choice for their wedding location as the property has belonged to Stewart’s family since the 1930s and she remembers spending every weekend there as a child. The farm setting provided their inspiration in pulling all of the details together and worked perfectly with the deep green and espresso color palette the couple chose; he picked the green and she picked the brown. The result? An absolutely charming and beautiful wedding celebration.

Last year we had the opportunity to print beautiful letterpress wedding invitations for the fall wedding of Ashley and Christian. Today we are thrilled that their wedding is featured on Style Me Pretty! Married at Houston’s First Presbyterian Church with the reception following at The Junior League of Houston, Ashley and Christian created an incredibly elegant affair that was the perfect blend of old world charm and modern sophistication.
Ashley and Christian chose our timeless Classic Calligraphy design for their letterpress invitations, printed in espresso and featuring a custom blind deboss monogram. Printed on our ivory cotton paper, the final look is nothing short of perfectly refined and elegant. For much more of Ashley and Christian’s wedding, as photographed by their amazing photographer Tanja Lippert, make sure to visit Style Me Pretty.
Congratulations Ashley and Christian and thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful wedding with Style Me Pretty readers!

Ellie and Kevin hosted a spectacularly elegant wedding in Toronto last June, an event so breathtaking in its sophistication that we just had to share. From their gorgeous letterpress wedding invitations to the dress to the cake, no detail was forgotten. The best part? Ellie and Kevin assembled an amazing team of wedding professionals and managed to pull off this fabulous event in just six months of planning! Held at
St. James Cathedral, Ellie and Kevin were married in a traditional Anglican ceremony with the reception following at
Le Royal Meridien King Edward’s Sovereign Ballroom. Using a romantic color palette based on shades of soft white with red accents, Ellie wanted the event to have a simple, understated style and opted for a customized version of our
Empire design in blueberry ink with blind debossed accents and gold edge painting. We also printed gorgeous letterpress programs and letterpress menus for this beautiful wedding.

Jordan and Juan Carlos (Juancho) are a truly special Bella Figura couple who married in April 2008 after they fell in love while Jordan was living in Ecuador where Juan is from. This past fall they threw a wonderful eco-friendly wedding celebration in Jordan’s home state of Texas in October, four years to date of their very first kiss, and chose Bella Figura’s letterpress wedding invitations in our Amy design printed with taupe ink to kick it all off. It was a great pleasure for us to work with Jordan and her mother who corresponded closely with client coordinator Tiffany, and we love all of the ways Jordan and Juan Carlos worked to make their wedding green and eco-friendly. Theirs is a wedding that was truly centered on love, family and togetherness while limiting any negative environmental impact and we find that incredibly inspirational. According to Jordan, “…for the green aspects of the wedding, we wanted to have a self-indulgent time but not at the cost of our carbon footprint. ”
To kick off the weekend celebration in true Texas fashion, Jordan and Juan invited their guests from around the world to join them for an evening at the rodeo followed by dinner and then dancing at a favorite local tavern. It was a chance to bring together their friends and family from as far away as Ecuador, Spain, England, Germany, Mexico and from across the United States in a fun and festive way that allowed everyone to forge new friendships and make new memories. Guests camped out and stayed in cabins at a couple of dude ranches in the local area, enjoyed horseback rides, participated in a series of summer camp-inspired activities such as games, tournaments, and scavenger hunts during the day on Saturday before enjoying a hayride before dinner.

{The wedding of Elizabeth & Felicia // Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, California // Circolo 2 letterpress wedding invitation design in champagne and pewter}
Our client coordinator Andrea had the great pleasure of working with Elizabeth (Eaz) to help choose the perfect wedding invitation for her ultra luxurious event. At first, Eaz was a bit skeptical about working with us exclusively by email and phone, but we are so happy that they did! Upon receiving their letterpress samples, Eaz and Felicia opted for the fun Circolo 2 design printed in champagne and pewter. The invitations coordinated perfectly with the charger plates they used and helped influence incredibly beautiful and personal details throughout their wedding. The couple infused their day with meaningful details that make it one of our favorite Bella Figura weddings to date.
Eaz and Felicia incorporated so many lovely details. Among their favorites were the rocks they used as place cards that were hand-painted by Felicia’s best man. They provided pretty custom embroidered handkerchiefs for all the happy tears and opted for flamenco guitar music in lieu of traditional wedding music during their ceremony. They had matching custom Converse All Star sneakers to wear after the ceremony and had a fabulously fun videobooth at their reception so guests could leave them personal video messages. The pastry chef for their wedding handmade beautiful lighted star ice bowls to serve their sorbet intermezzo and, our personal favorite, the matching chargers and invitations!

The wedding of Patricia & Richard // in Pollenzo, Bra, Italy (a very small town in Piemonte Italy and home to the Slow Food University) // Empire letterpress wedding invitation in emerald green
Our client coordinator Andrea handled the coordination of the save the dates, invitations, and reception pieces for this gorgeous destination wedding. Andrea writes: “Patricia has been one of my biggest joys here at Bella Figura. Since our first contact, each morning I looked forward to sharing snippets of Italian in our emails and learning more about her beautiful wedding in Pollenzo, Italy. Her proposal story is one that I have shared and shared again (I’m sure other Bella staff could retell it better than me at this point) and upon seeing photos of her wedding I teared up. There is no more rewarding feeling than to grow fond of someone while helping them during one of their happiest times, and then finally seeing who they are and getting to peek at such a marvelous day. Words simply cannot express the joy that working here brings.” We talked with Patricia more about her incredible celebration….
What was your inspiration for your wedding?
Rick and I are both of Italian heritage. During the years that we dated, we sometimes talked about a ‘little wedding’ in a hilltop town in Italy somewhere. We traveled together to Milan and Torino, visiting the Lakes Region and Piemonte and fell in love with the region, the food and wine and most importantly the people. We knew it would be a memorable trip for our family and dearest friends.

Every day our Bella Figura clients are inspirations to us. They have good tastes in invitations, of course, but they also have amazing talents at planning fabulous weddings. So with our new web site, we wanted to start profiling some of the best weddings of our clients. We’re just thrilled that our first Bella Figura real wedding is this lovely couple, Allan & Brian, with a really spectacular wedding. When we saw photographs from their celebration at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, all of us here were just floored by the creativity of everything about the wedding. Allan & Brian choose the Circolo 2 design in cardinal and pewter, and their invitation really captured the spirit of their wedding. And then Allan sent us some amazing writing about the wedding too, the importance of the ceremony, and his thoughts about love that described, for us, what weddings are really about.
What was your inspiration for the wedding?
The arts are very important to us, which is one important reason why we chose Disney Concert Hall as the venue. We also both have an affinity for the music and styles of the 1920s, ’30s and ’40s. We wanted an event that was stylish and elegant but also fun. We opted for a black tie-optional champagne cocktail event. We love art deco style, so we wanted something inspired by that sensibility. But because the concert hall is so modern, we didn’t want a slavish re-creation of art deco. Instead, we wanted a fusion which was a challenge to pull off, but ended up working really well.
Tell us about the proposal.
It would be great if there were a story with lightning bolts or roses or bended knee in the moonlight. However, after 18 years together there was no such moment. Actually, we were quite surprised when the California Supreme Court handed down a decision allowing same-sex marriage in the state. Beginning that evening, friends and family started calling to ask, “So, are you going to do it?” We were both surprised to discover that we had repressed how much we wanted to get married — how important it was to have an event that included the people who mattered most to us. And so after a few days of weighing the options (such as a small ceremony at the county clerk office) we decided we wanted a real wedding. And, with Proposition 8 on the November ballot, we felt we had a brief window in which we could confidently plan something.
